taking it one breeze at a time
If there is 1 thing I hate the most about watching YouTube or Metacafe videos, is the hassle of having to click pause to allow the video to actually load. Now I’m not one of those lucky people to have blazing fast internet speeds. For a long time, I have been made to believe that I just have to live with this problem, and upgrading my internet bandwidth is the only solution.

Well thankfully, I came accross this interesting software that actually makes videos stream faster. SpeedBit Video Accelerator currently supports over 60 video sites (which includes all the popular ones such as YouTube, Metacafe and Aol Video). Other features includes iTunes (premium) accelerator (you have pay for this), adult-content filtering and a built-in search feature to search vids from your desktop. From what I understand, it makes videos play smoother and reduces buffering problems by opening a number of simultaneous connections to download the video stream (perhaps the same way download accelerators work). It’s (at the time of writing) still a Beta version 2.2.1.8 and reportedly, they have quite a number of bugs to sort out, such as proxy settings issues and a bunch of others.
So I gave it a try, since its free. Guess what, it actually worked! Installing was a breeze and issue free, and it works on both Firefox and IE. And the important part is I get to watch streaming videos almost instantly on my slow connection. Cool!
